Ready Set Go! You can effectively teach all your students algebra topics from integers to equations, and everything in between.
And you can do it without constant reviewing and feeling frustrated that they are not retaining the information.
Truth Is...
Math, especially once you hit middle school, can be very abstract. Unless you build a strong foundation with concrete teaching, students will struggle. Students need hands on materials to make sense of math. Manipulatives help build a strong foundation which is essential for your students success in mathematics.
I know how it feels...after two years of teaching middle school math I was struggling to help my students retain the information...especially the algebra topics. I knew I needed to make a change in the way I was teaching, but I wasn't sure what to do. Fast forward to some Algebra tiles, intense learning on my part and another year of trial - and -error, and I finally found something that worked.
Introducing
The academy where you will learn exactly how to teach 10 ALGEBRA TOPICS with ALGEBRA TILES and most importantly, HOW to implement them in your classroom.
If you didn't catch it before...it took me a YEAR of trial-and-error of using algebra tiles in my classroom to realize what worked and what didn't work.
You must also learn HOW to use the algebra tiles tiles in your classroom. In Algebra Tiles Academy you will learn a tried-and-true 4-step strategy I implemented in my classroom to see great success.
A MESSAGE FROM MICHELLE
You see, I know my strategies were successful because...
- I wasn't having to reteach and reteach
- Test scores went up
- Students were allowed to move at their own pace
- Students felt successful.
- Most Importantly...I was able to reach ALL my students.
The thing is... Unless you use concrete materials to teach math and build a strong foundation you will be constantly reteaching. Algebra tiles increase sensory input and help you reach ALL your students.
- Use of manipulatives increases sensory input
- Students make sense of the math rather than memorizing algorithms with no meaning
- Better able to reach all-learners

"I completed this course in one sitting and it took about 75 minutes to complete the videos. It is a great overview on how to use Algebra Tiles. I have attended conference sessions about Algebra Tiles before but this is the first time I really understood how I can use them. I teach 7th grade math and plan on starting the tiles with adding and subtracting integers in September."

Meet Michelle
Hi, my name is Michelle, and I love mathematics. I hope that my enthusiasm for the subject shows in my products and course.
I received a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Utah. I then continued my education to become a certified teacher. I also have taken various masters classes about math pedagogy including topics such as developing a growth mindset in the math classroom, the common core and connecting topics throughout the grade levels, team-teaching with a special-education teacher, and modeling with mathematics.
I taught middle school mathematics for six years. In addition to my regular classes, I also taught remediation math and honors math. I set up my classroom curriculum for students to use higher-order thinking skills on a daily basis. I currently am a math curriculum designer, creating materials to help students make sense of math.
